Basic Understanding of Greek Course Syllabus

Purpose of this course is for you to get an understanding of Interpretation of the Bible and how to use scripture to understand how scripture is used to verify scripture.

In this course you will:

  • Get an understanding of how Greek texts are used.
  • Basics of reading the Greek Scriptures.
  • How to use Strong’s numbers in studying the New Testament.
  • How to use a lexicon.

My hope upon completion you will:

  • Understand why having an understanding of why knowing the language is important for preparing a message for teaching and preaching
  • Understand the use of Strong’s numbers and a lexicon.

Requirements for this course to complete:

  • Show up for class on time. If you are going to be late or not be able to come to class you will miss out on important information. Make sure you have a course buddy that will help get you caught up
    • If you miss more than two classes without approval you will be dropped from the class.
    • Approval can only be done by text or email so there is a record. I keep all my emails and texts.
    • I need to be contacted before the start of class if you are not going to be there.
  • Read your Bible daily.
  • Be active in your Church.
  • Participate in Class meetings.
  • Be ready for the next class with any reading and studying completed.
  • Complete all handouts and bookwork.
    • I don’t want one-word answers, please take the time to elaborate.
    • Try to be legible. This is for you to reflect on in the future, will you be able to read it in the future.
  • You will have papers to write:
    • A paper using Greek to interpret a passage in the New Testament. (Choose a passage and find scripture to help you understand it’s interpretation)
    • A paper on the use Strong’s Numbers.

Upon completion you will receive a certificate of completing this class. Credit toward Your certificate of completion of all courses needed for your ministry offered by Christian Essential Doctrine Training.
